Rad Cats Read Comics

Hello! My name is Alenka, I use they/them pronouns and I am a geek culture writer and librarian interested in comics, cartoons, and young adult fiction. I also love cats, especially my cat, whose name is Nova and who you can admire on instagram.

My true loves are webcomics, zines, and other independent publications. I was initially drawn to this kind of creative work – especially self-published webcomics – because I was seeking out marginalized voices who are often excluded from mainstream publishing. As a librarian and a writer I am committed to supporting marginalized creators.

I currently write about zines and comics for Women Write About Comics. I also write for SideQuest, usually about TTRPG podcasts and related content.
